Sunday services in this church are centered on readings from our Pastor—the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. The weekly Bible Lesson covers a different topic each week. The same weekly Bible Lesson is read at all Christian Science services around the world.
Join us on Sundays
Going on at the same time as our Sunday service, our Sunday School teachers and staff welcome children and young people up to the age of 20 to learn from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook about the nature of God as a loving Father-Mother: all-wise, pure good, all-powerful, and ever-present.
The younger classes focus on stories and lessons from the Bible including the Lord’s Prayer, the Sermon on the Mount, and the Ten Commandments.
The older students study topical subjects relating to the challenges and opportunities of youth today and how to make their Christianity practical in their everyday lives.
For our youth
Babies and young children will find a place of love and joy in here. Care is provided in our Children’s Room during Sunday services and Wednesday meetings.
“Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature; heal the sick.”
Healing is central to Jesus’ teachings. At our weekly Wednesday evening meetings we hear specially prepared readings from the Bible and Science and Health, we pray and sing together, and then we have the opportunity to share informally our ideas and experiences related to Christian Science and how we’ve seen its practical, healing effect in our lives. It’s a time of mutual encouragement, uplift, and gratitude.
Inspiration on Wednesdays
Our Reading Room, jointly maintained by the Christian Science churches of Belvedere, Novato and San Rafael in Marin County, is located in downtown San Rafael at 1400 Fourth Street at “D” Street. We welcome the public to enjoy its peaceful atmosphere for the purpose of reading and praying for yourself, your family, the community, and our world.
On Thanksgiving Day, a special service is held where a Thanksgiving Bible Lesson is read; we pray and sing; and we have the opportunity to praise God by sharing gratitude for all our blessings.
